NYSC Relocation 2026: How to Apply for Redeployment Online
NYSC relocation (also called redeployment) allows a corps member to transfer from their original state of deployment to another state.
You apply for relocation and once approved, NYSC redeploys you.
What is NYSC Relocation (Redeployment)?
NYSC relocation is the official transfer of a corps member from the state of orientation camp or their original Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) to a new state of deployment.
Relocation can be processed during orientation camp and after camp via the online portal.
Grounds for NYSC Relocation
Relocation is only approved on valid grounds:
1. Health Grounds
- Requires medical report from a government hospital
- Serious conditions may receive faster approval
2. Marital Grounds
- For married women
- Requires marriage certificate and proof of husband’s residence
3. Security Grounds
- Based on safety concerns
4. Director-General (DG) Directive
- Special administrative cases
How to Apply for NYSC Relocation Online
Follow these steps:
- Visit the official NYSC portal.
- Log in with your registered email and password.
- Click on “Relocation.”
- Fill in your details.
- Upload supporting documents.
- Submit your application.
You will be notified via email or SMS once a decision is made.
How to Print NYSC Redeployment Letter
Once approved:
- Log in to your NYSC dashboard.
- Click “Manage Relocation.”
- Make required payment.
- Print your relocation (redeployment) letter in colour.
- Make photocopies.
Proceed immediately to your new state.
Documentation After NYSC Redeployment
After approval, you must report to the NYSC secretariat in your new state.
Do not return to your former state.
What to Wear:
- Full NYSC kit (6/7 or 7/7)
- Jungle boots or white sneakers
- Crested vest or plain white top

If relocating for health reasons, your medical report must include:
- Your name and call-up number
- Diagnosis
- Doctor’s recommendation
- Doctor’s signature and hospital stamp

Avoid falsified medical reports — this may lead to sanctions.
How Long Does NYSC Relocation Take?
Processing time depends on the reason for relocation, availability of PPAs, and NYSC workload.
Health and marital cases are usually processed faster.
Other cases may take several weeks.
Can You Cancel NYSC Relocation?
Cancellation is difficult once approved.
If still in camp, speak with camp officials immediately.
If already approved online, contact your Local Inspector or State Coordinator.
Cancellation is not guaranteed.
